Exterior Painting & Staining: It's not too late!

Fall is just around the corner and it's not too late to paint, stain, and protect the exterior of your home before winter.

As temps are no longer in the 90s, drying times for paint and stain may be a little longer now vs. in June. However, it is not too late. Most exterior paints and stains should not be applied in temperatures lower than 50° F and some lines of premium 100% acrylic latex paints and primers have been specially formulated to be used in temperatures as low as 35°F.

We will first consult with you and inspect the material we are painting. Whether it's vinyl shingles, a wood deck, or your brick exterior - you can count on Reliable's professional team of painters for all your exterior painting and staining needs.

Reliable's Exterior Painting Process

Consultation & FREE Estimate

Reliable's professional color experts and technicians will help you choose the right finish, brand, and color of paint or stain. We have national partnerships with leading brands like Sherwin-Williams and will guide you to the best product to fit your needs and budget. If you would like to purchase the paint yourself - we welcome any customer to supply their own materials.
Protection

Protecting your home during the painting process is most important. We will remove or cover all furniture, art work, faceplates, flooring, and landscape before we start painting. We will work with you to close all the windows and storm window.
Prep

Interior Painting: We will create an optimal surface for adherence and long-lasting results. We will check for any loose boards, moldings, or protruding nails before scraping and sanding away peeling and flaky paint.
We then spot prime, caulk, and putty as needed.

Exterior Painting: Our team will check for rotten or broken wood. If there is wood that needs to be replaced or repaired, we work with you to arrange this. Then a good powerwash to remove any mildew or mold might be necessary. We will discuss this during your consultation and free estimate.
Paint

Interior Painting: If a color change is being made, we will apply the first coat of quality paint. We will re-evaluate the surface condition after the first coat and, if necessary, sand, caulk and putty.
We will again spot prime any repaired surfaces and then apply the finish coat of paint.

Commercial Painting: The team will make sure your windows are protected during the painting process, including removing windows and screens, downspouts, and shutters, if necessary.
We will apply all first and finishing coats following safety guidelines to protect your home and landscaping.
Final Inspection

At the end of the job, we will conduct a final inspection and make any necessary final touchups. You will be invited to do a final walk-thru to answer any final questions or requests and to guarantee your satisfaction. We will remove all tools and equipment including drop cloths and plastic sheeting. We will complete the clean-up by sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning up the wash sink.
